The Employee Spotlight series is a monthly blog where we get up-close and personal with some of the amazing team members we have here at Platinum Standard Grading.
For this month's Employee Spotlight, we spoke to James Lewis, aka Stashman, who is one of Platinum Standard Grading's executive cardologist's.
What was the first pack of cards you purchased and how long have you been collecting?
I have been collecting for 20 years with my first packs being 92/93 Upper Deck Basketball.
What product do you look forward to each year?
I mainly collect Upper Deck but I suppose Flawless Basketball currently.
When did you realise you wanted to make the hobby into your career?
It was always something I wanted to make happen in the back of my mind for the last 10 years, so it's so great to make it happen.
What does a day at work look like for you?
I wear a few hats. So I could be grading, putting slabs together and even quality checking labels and so on.
What's an interest you have outside of the card industry?
Basketball... Love the sport in general and it's the reason I started collecting!!
What do you like the most about the hobby and hobby events?
Getting to meet and greet collectors that I have had conversations with for years and finally putting faces to names!!
