It's a question that I hear more and more these days, are the days of the pure collector gone with the explosion of the hobby? In the past 3-4 years we now hear turns like 'investment' or 'speculation' when describing the new NBA rookie class which have brought in a new breed of collector.
I've been collecting for over 20 years, so well and truly fit within the term 'Old School Collector'. I love my Ray Allen personal collection (PC) and chase the older products like Upper Deck. It's the way I get most enjoyment out of the hobby.
So one thing is for sure, the hobby is evolving. I am as enthusiastic as ever for the hobby I enjoy and can't wait to see what the next 10 years brings. Grading cards, NFT's, what could be next?
